About Our Dogs

Our Border Collies are highly skilled goose deterrents, expertly trained to target Canada Geese. Only the most suitable dogs are chosen, carefully selected for their physical fitness, mental stability, and outgoing personalities. Their swimming ability is crucial for effective goose control.

Guided by our handlers, our dogs use a humane approach to encourage geese to relocate. They work quietly on land and in water, using their herding skills to simulate a predator’s presence. These dedicated dogs are eager to start their day and are exceptional in their ability to deter geese.

Before deploying our dogs on goose patrols, we train each one on sheep and domestic birds. We also maintain our dogs’ herding skills and obedience by regularly working them on livestock.

Border Collies are known for “giving the eye,” which is a powerful gaze that effectively deters geese from the area without physical contact. This technique utilizes the intensity of the stare to persuade geese to seek alternative feeding grounds. Our Collies move calmly and confidently until instructed by our handlers to return.

Although our dogs are dedicated workers, they also enjoy playtime and socializing with people and other dogs. Each one is friendly and outgoing.

Our Border Collies’ herding instincts mimic a predator’s presence, prompting Canada Geese to fly away and seek a safer location for feeding and roosting.

Complete Wildlife Control trained dogs will effectively manage goose populations and keep them away from client sites, even when working at a distance from their handlers.
